JNPR Stock Gains On Upgrade As Acquisitions Spur Enterprise Growth – Investor's Business Daily

BREAKING: Market Erases Morning Gains
The turnaround of Juniper Networks (JNPR) will gain traction in 2022 as it adds enterprise customers, according to an analyst who upgraded the company’s shares Tuesday. JNPR stock rose.
Juniper’s revenue outlook for 2022 is likely conservative, Bank of America analyst Tal Liani wrote in a note to clients. He upgraded JNPR stock to buy from underperform.
“We view management guidance for 5% 2022 revenue growth as conservative and believe the recent acceleration in order growth will translate into a higher revenue growth in 2022, especially as supply constraints begin to ease,” Liani said.
Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Juniper is a rival of Dow Jones component Cisco Systems (CSCO). Juniper stock has rebounded amid acquisitions. It has purchased Mist Systems, Apstra, 128 Technologies and Netrounds — all since March 2019.
Juniper stock rose 2.5% to close at 35.36 on the stock market today. With an entry point of 29.87 on a weekly chart, JNPR stock trades above the 5% buy zone.

The IBD computer networking group outperformed in late 2021. Liani also is bullish on the networking group.
“Digital transformation, migration to cloud, and global 5G proliferation are driving network investments among telecom carriers, cable operators and cloud providers, as reflected in their spending plans,” he added.
Juniper stock holds a Relative Strength Rating of 94 out of a best-possible 99, according to IBD Stock Checkup.
Prior to the Bank of America upgrade, JNPR stock had lost 3% in 2022.
Juniper stock gained traction in the enterprise market with the company’s acquisition of Mist Systems for $405 million in 2019. Last year, Juniper bought 128 Technology for $450 million, lifting JNPR stock.
Mist’s wireless LAN platform uses artificial intelligence tools for automation and management features. Juniper aims to integrate Mist’s AI tools throughout its enterprise product line, analysts say. 128 Technology uses AI tools as part of its Session Smart Networking platform.
With the 128 Technology purchase, Juniper targeted a new technology that links corporate headquarters with branch offices and remote workers. It’s called software-defined wide area networks, or SD-WAN.
“Juniper has historically not performed well in the enterprise market given a weak go-to-market strategy,” said Liani. “However, management believes it has turned this around with a differentiated AI-driven portfolio. It expects enterprise to be a significant growth driver in 2022.”
